Heather Clement Tessmer began her legal career in 1999 after graduating from St. Mary’s University School of Law. In 2001, Heather opened her own office and began accepting cases from a diverse clientele.
In January of 2010, the office evolved into Tessmer Law Firm, PLLC. Heather continues to offer quality legal services to San Antonio and the surrounding Hill Country.

Lead Paralegal Julia Hix

Julia Hix has been working with Tessmer Law Firm, P.L.L.C. since October of 2010. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005 with a B.A. in English. Following her studies in English, Julia completed the Paralegal Program through the Center for Professional Excellence, also at The University of Texas at San Antonio. In addition, she earned an A.A.S. in Business Management from Vernon College. Julia is originally from North Texas; she and her husband have lived in Boerne for several years.

Heidi Helstrom has been with Tessmer Law Firm, P.L.L.C. since May 2011. Heidi received an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Technology from an ABA approved program in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She also completed the Paralegal Program at University of Texas San Antonio. Heidi achieved her Paralegal Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants in January of 2010. Heidi was born in San Antonio but has lived all over the United States and Europe, including England and Italy. She has been living in San Antonio with her three daughters since 2001. Heidi is currently a member of National Association of Legal Assistants, South Texas Organization of Paralegals and State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division. She also holds an Elections Sub-chair position in District 5 of the local State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division.
Certified Paralegal Brittany Hinojosa
Brittany Hinojosa has been with Tessmer Law Firm, P.L.L.C. since May, 2011. Brittany graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2011. She completed the Paralegal Program through the University of Texas at San Antonio in August 2011, and achieved her Paralegal Certificate in March of this year. She is a proud member of the UTSA Alumni Association and the National Association of Legal Assistants. Brittany is originally from the Rio Grande Valley and has been living in San Antonio for several years.

Becca Phillips has been with Tessmer Law Firm, P.L.L.C. since March, 2011. Becca graduated from Texas A&M University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and completed the Paralegal Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio in December, 2011. The daughter of a Methodist minister, she has moved around South Texas her entire life and currently calls San Antonio home.
Financial Manager Tammy Fisher
Tammy Fisher began working part-time from home for Tessmer Law Firm in 2009, writing arbitration contentions. In November 2011, Tammy moved from Brownwood, Texas to become Financial Manager at the firm. Tammy is a graduate of Mansfield Business College with a major in accounting/bookkeeping. Before coming to work at Tessmer Law Firm, Tammy spent many years managing offices for insurance claims adjusters and an auto collision repair shop. Tammy and her husband grew up in the Texas Hill Country and always wanted to move back once they became “empty nesters.” They have two grown sons, two grandchildren and are happy to be living in the Boerne area.
Legal Assistant Debbie Martinez

Debbie Martinez began working at Tessmer Law Firm in October 2012. Born in Torrance, California, Debbie moved to Texas in 1984 with her family. She is actively involved with St. Jude Children’s Hospital, starting the “Dressing Casual for St. Jude Kid’s” Fundraiser at the firm, and organizing the staff to attend other St. Jude fundraisers. She is currently a member of the St. Jude Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament committee, and working on the St. Jude Country Cares Radiothon for 2013. Debbie is married and has one son. Her administrative background includes working in the medical and legal fields.
